1959 Studebaker Lark VI

1959 Studebaker Lark VI
This is the photo I saw online and made the decision that I had to save this little car.
Four flats and knobby tie on the front my kind of project for sure.

By the time I made it to Amarillo,TX to pick her up, Gib had removed the debris from the from of her and replaced it with with rare nearly rust free body panels. He aired up the tires and even replaced the knobby on the front. I will be making a second trip to Amarillo, TX to pick up more of her. Check back for more photos of Bessie.

The frame and a lot of parts not shown is what the second trip to Amarillo was made for.
This is what's left of 1962 Lark, It is all original 259 V-8 Stuff that is headed to the 59 Lark.
The Disassembly Begins

This is the front of the car before the body came off
all rusty and broken motor mounts.

The front floorboard after removing years of junk from inside
the car, the floor is surprisingly solid!

The rear floor area has less rust then the front! Check out that nasty door panel,
I hope to find a suitable replacement for it someday.

Inside the trunk just more solid metal, in all the photos
that you see there is rust but it is just surface.

The body is off and the frame is getting all the attention now.

The front and rear suspension have been swapped over from the doner frame (right)
Now for the fun part of prepping the frame for the POR-15.

The shadetree assembly line, it's a long way from South Bend!
Even the leaves on the tree have not made an appearance yet.

The World famous body drop! Dont try this without helpers!
Unforutunatly these guys retired shortly after this photo was taken!

All back together again the frame as been completely coated in POR-15, it has all
new brake lines both rubber and steel and Fuel lines. All NOS wheel cylinders and shoes.
There are new body mounts as well, now for the engine and tranny!

The engine and tranny are now in the 59 Body & Chassis.
Just in time to throw all the front sheet metal back on again and it looks like its ready for a Roadtrip!

Almost ready for the trip, an anxious Lark for sure.

Back on the trailer and headed for its new home, its been in storage at my Brothers house.
It's time it spent a little quality time in the Garage!

HOME SWEET HOME, now I don't have to wait for
mother nature to give a good day to work on it!
I have done a little more work on the Lark but haven't taken anymore photo's of the progess!
Check back again!
