1925
Ford opens a dealership in Japan, the Model T receives its second facelift in two years. But despite the changes sales continue to fall. Just over 1.6 million Ford vehicles will be built this year. The market share that once was at 50 plus percent has fallen to just 44 percent. Ford starts a advertising campaign touting the safety and reliability of there cars. But Chevrolet and other rivals are growing stronger. Edsel wants his father to start working on a new car but Henry refuses. In 1923, Edsel Ford invested in the the Stout Metal
Airplane Company, formed to build the first all-metal aircraft. It later became
part of Ford Motor Company. In 1925 Ford rolls out the Ford Tri-Motor Airplane.
