Motor Car Company

1952
25th  series

Model year production was 62,921 cars. Packard was ranked the 16th automaker, In May 1952 Hugh Ferry annouced that James Nance would become his successor as President and General Manager of Packard Motor Car Corp. The 25th series was introduced Nov. 14th, 1951, on the nationwide television comedy show hosted by Red Skelton. Packards first special non-production-type car was exhibited this year. It was called the Pan American convertible. Lightly plated 'Korean War' chrome (with reduced nickel content) was used on Packards this year, due to the Korean War restrictions. Such chrome deteriorated much more rapidly than the conventional type, a fact that old car hobbyist usually must deal with in restorations of such models of Packards Automobiles. Packard would build no Station Wagons for the 1952 Model year.
