Factory introduction of the 1955 models took place Jan.17,1955. Model year output was 55,247 cars. Calender years sales were 69,667 units. Packard was America's 14th ranked automaker. A Patrician ran 25,00 miles at an average speed of 104.737 mph in the AAA-supervised test at the companies Utica Proving Ground. The Packard Request show car with a "Classic" grille was built this year. Packard supplied V-8 engines and Ultramatic transmissions to the American Motors Corp. for use in Nash and Hudson Eights. Richard Teague was now cheif stylist at Studebaker-Packard Corp.
