1903
The Ford Motor Company incorporates June 16, 1903 with $28,000.00 capitol . Henry Ford holds 25.5 percent interest of the fledgling company. For his chassis Henry Ford contracts the Dodge Brothers John and Horace to build them for $250.00 each. The first car is sold in July, a $850 Model A runabout. In November the Ford Motor Company pays its first dividend to shareholders. The Model A is available in any color as long as its red, also in 1903 famous race car driver Barney Oldfield pushes Henry Fords "999" racer to a new world speed record of 64.5 mph.
