1928
The Model A finally arives, a reported 10 million people came to see the new Ford in its first 36 hours on the market. The development of the Model A cost Ford $250 million. Ford assets are estimated to be at nearly $1 Billion. The Model A gets saftey glass, an industry first. Roadsters could be purchased with or without a rumble seat for the same $480, Model A prices range from $460 for a phaeton to $585 for a Fordor sedan. Most popular in sales was the Tudor sedan outselling the Fordor by a margin of two to one. A Model A could reach a speed of 65 mph, a 20 mph improvment over the Model T.
