1953 Oldsmobile Showcar 'Starfire'
The 1953 Oldsmobile Showcar 'Starfire' is on display here in
the 1953 Motorama held at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City. Motoramas of the
1950s were showcases of technical and styling innovations that toured several
large cities. Visitors were given a glimpse of future automobiles

1954 Oldsmobile Cutlass Concept
The 1954 Oldsmobile Cutlass Concept had a road height of
51.5 inches, and a body of reinforced plastic. An aviation theme was prevalent
throughout the Cutlass from aircraft-style instrumentation to sleek tailfins.

1954 Oldsmobile F-88 concept car
1954 Oldsmobile F-88 concept car was a 2-passenger model
with recessed sports car-type seats, a panoramic windshield, jet airfoil wheel
disks and a recessed license plate. The instrument panel started at the center
of the dash panel and ran vertically to the floor. In the background are 1940 GM
Futurliners, which were constructed by GM to tour North America, presenting the
Parade of Progress to millions of visitors who enjoyed demonstrations of
cutting-edge science and technology. The brainchild of Charles Kettering, the

Paris Auto Show. Ever the center of attention - the Golden Rocket featured a
seating system in which a roof panel was raised and the seat was elevated and
rotated toward the entering occupant when the door was opened. Buttons on the
steering wheel allowed the column to tilt downward, providing the driver with
easier access
