The Studebaker-Packard Corp calendar year production only amounted to 78,664 units. Down some 30,000 units from 1960. The Lark was slightly restyled in 1961. Regal models had standard dual headlights. Single headlights were standard on deluxe models, although duals were an option. Rocker panel moldings were standard on Regal models. Rubber windshield and rear window were standard on Deluxe models, although Regal stainless steel moldings were optional. Side trim on all Lark related models, except the regular Y1 ran above the natural front fender contour line. The Y1 did not have side moldings as standard, although they were an option. A new regal version of the body was introduced. It was called the Lark Cruiser and was marketed for private ownership. The six cylinder Cruiser was only marketed outside North America. An extra fin-type molding and color band was added to the Hawk. The Hawk six was also sold only outside of  North America. The six cylinder engine was finally available as a over-head valve, with a displacement of 169.6 Cid, 122 HP.
