1965

The 1965 styling were almost identical to the 1964 offering. the one major change was the switch to heavy-duty Canadian built engines. Since the closing of the South Bend plant. Studebaker had to seek out other engines for its cars. These General Motor-Mckinnon engines we based on the Chevrolet design. Dual headlights were standard on all 1965 models. The wide moldings  on the back deck lid of the Cruisers were discontinued. A new horizontal molding on the Daytona Sedans and Cruisers was added below the deck lid opening. The new six cylinder Cruiser was available in North America. Commanders was now continued with narrow side moldings, while Cruisers had wide moldings. The model identifications were on the front fenders of  and also on the back of Cruisers and Daytona's. A six cylinder Daytona was not offered in 1965.
